Final

Over the summer I read a book called the color of water. This book was a requirement into the Kent State University. Although I did not like the fact of reading the book it came to be one of my favorites. This book is very touching and tells people a lot about society’s ways. It explains the things people are capable of in this cold, nasty, grim world. James says, “The world is full of evil”(McBride 45). I really agree with that because I do feel that if you are with your friends you look at people differently, and if you are rich you look down on people as if they are not equal to you. In this book James explains how he and his siblings lived in poverty, and how people would treat their mother when she was seen with her bi-racial children. He and his siblings never understood why their mother was different from every else’s mother. She never explained to them her childhood and she kept a lot of secrets from them. Although she appeared to be strange, she made sure that all of her children finished school and they all turned out to be very successful despite the fight that they put up.

Research Project

A research project that I will like to take on sounds sort of weird. In fact I am not looking forward to a research project any time soon! But, since I have to be interested in one it would be how babies are born. I would like to do a research paper on this because it seems interesting and I also plan on having a baby someday. This would be a broad topic and there would also be a lot to learn about it. Doing this research you would learn how a baby grows, when the baby is developing, how a baby is conceived, and how you determine the sex of a baby. It would also be nice to know why doctors sometimes mess up on ultrasounds and give you the wrong sex of your baby. Although it may seem easy, but taking care of a baby is very hard. I am not a mother but I do have a god daughter and have watched my nephew come into the world. Baby sitting is even hard enough to me. I know that in order for me to be a parent any time soon, preferably after college, I will have a lot of research to do and I will also have a lot of practice to do.

Shopping/Fashion Expertise!

I would have to say that I am totally an expert in fashion. In fact, I have even thought about changing my major to fashion but I don’t really think you can go far with that type of major. I feel that I am a expert at this because everything I do evolves around fashion. I love to shop, whenever and however as long as I have the money. Lets just say thank God I don’t have a credit card because trust me it would be maxed to the limit. I know where the best sales are and when to catch them. I also know that at some stores they sale some of the same things I am very good at comparing prices, and remembering where I saw the lowest offered price. It is good to shop at urban stores because the more you buy things the bigger discount you receive. Everyone knows that coupons are great but there are other things you can do to save you money on shopping. Signing up as a user on the store websites gives you lots of coupons and discounts in the mail and also when you shop on the internet. Getting a frequent buyer card will save you money not only on a sale day but every day.

Business Degree

The major I have chosen to excel in is Business. In business there are many of different types such as; accounting, management, finance, and a lot of others. I am not very sure what minor I am looking for, or even what exact field of business to go into but I do know that business is what best fits my description. I love to be the boss of things, on top of things, or plan things out so that they will go smoothly. In business I plan to work in a big corporation of some type, own some business in local areas, and I also would like to promote different things like CD’s and products from various companies. I have dreamed of making slogans for cereal boxes, or clothing lines. So basically you can see that I am a very hands on person. I love for things to go exactly as planned and I love to get the spotlight. With my business degree I am hoping for it to take me very far, perhaps on a long journey to stardom.
In my home town we only have one night club, when I get out of college I am hoping that me and an old time friend of mine will complete our dream by building a night club. We figured that it would make huge profit. A business degree can get you many of places. Many always ask what kind of jobs can you come up with, with a business degree. Business is the background of all jobs; in fact it teaches you a lot of things other majors know. So it has a large variety of job offers which makes it easier to fit a job description.
I am also interested in working for a college. Being a school audit is a tough job but I am willing to do anything that brings me the money. I could also be a college professor, teaching something in my field. Being a business major you have to stay on task and make sure that you keep your grades up.
According to recent statistics released by the U.S. Department of Education, 233,119 bachelor's degrees in business were awarded n 1997-98, up 6,486 over the year before. Of all bachelor's degrees awarded in all disciplines in 1997-98, 19.6 percent were in business.

Coat Shopping Yayyyy!

The last thing that I went shopping for is a coat. Although it may seem kind of easy but trust me it was not. I went to a lot of stores looking for the perfect coat. My mom always fusses at me because I take a long time, but like always parents just don’t understand. I had to find something that I wouldn’t mind wearing for at least four months. Everyone that I found was ugly or too expensive. I ended up having to buy a very expensive coat which was plan anyway, but not my mothers. Going shopping with me can be very hectic so please be cautious.

College Life!

This year of 2005 has truly been a blessing. Just like life I am also learning new things each day in school. I love this type of atmosphere, and diversity. I get lonely at times because I have my own dorm room, but I'd rather my own than to share. Just like in high school you find find your true friends, but in college you really know who they are. My family supports me and gives me a positive outlook on college. I know I am the one that should have the positive outlook, and although I do, they help me alot. College life is great, it lets you be more free, and you meet lots of new people from all over the world.

The Color of Water

As an incoming freshman at Kent State University, I was required to read a book called The Color of Water. Although I didn’t like the thought of it, but I am very glad I read that book. It was confusing at first but it was also too good to stop reading.

This books discusses about a boy and his family. He and his siblings never really understood why there mother was so weird. They were often embarresed about her because she wasn’t like the other kids in the neighborhood mothers. She was Jewish and all her kids were mixed. They never had any money and they often starved.

I really encourage you to read this book; that is why I don’t want to tell you everything. Always remember, “Never judge a book by its cover.

Halloween 2005!

What I did for Halloween, trust me is not interesting. As a matter of fact, I don’t even know what I did. Oh yes I do, I went to downtown Akron to this club called Harry Buffalo and I had a lot of fun. Although it wasn’t intentionally for Halloween I still went, even though it would have been nice to stay at my school and go down town to Kent because I know now, what I never knew, that it really goes down in Kent for Halloween. But I know where I will be next year!

A Place that Describes my Subculture!

A place that describes my subculture is Hollywood. This is a city where most stars stay at. This place describes my subculture because it is very glamorous and they have great parties, this is somewhere I would love to live. The whole style down there is totally me. They drive nice cars, and they have big gorgeous homes. They have loving families and lots of money.

A Song that describes me!

The song that describes me and that would fit me into my subculture, it’s funny but its true would be “Real Big” by the Big Tymers. I am a little spoiled I admit so it seems like everywhere I go I have to maintain an image. This image has been with me since I can remember. I have always looked dressed nice, in style, in other words I always out do people. “Cars real big, rims real big, *&%$ real big, everything real big”, and excerpt from the song. Everything I do it is always better than what everybody else does who “try to do it big!” It goes way back to middle school when if we didn’t have to wear uniforms we would talk about what we were going to where and I would always look the best. I’m like one of the youngest of my friends so when everyone turned eighteen we all had fun and all but when I turned eighteen, I could have had my own show because I had a big sweet 18 birthday party and it was so much better than everyone’s birthday put together. For prom everyone had to pick out dresses but they were on a budget, I didn’t have to be on a certain budget my dress cost $600 dollars. Everyone said that my dress was beautiful, and that I always go all out for stuff. So doing it way bigger than others is something that describes me!
